For Gen 2 Vipers only (97-02) with rear exhaust -
Removing catalytic converters is useful for testing the restriction of the stock cats, reducing side sill heat and for "off road" use. On 1997-2002 Vipers, Catalytic Simulators or an SCT XCalibrator will need to be used so the check engine light does not come on for a catalytic converter efficiency failure. Adding these pipes on a stock exhaust system will free up more power than a cat-back exhaust system. The sound will also greatly improve, and the car will sound like you added a cat-back.
 
These pipes are made of 304 Stainless Steel, are cut to the correct length and swelled to the correct size, allowing you to remove your catalytic converters temporarily or permanently (for off road use). We include installation instructions and high quality stainless steel band clamps. They can be installed in about an hour and a half using simple tools. Adds approximately 15-20 rear wheel horsepower.

 NOTE 2: Catalytic Converter Simulators or a SCT Engine Management flash device with Downstream Sensor monitoring turned off are required in order to keep the check engine light out on 03-06 Vipers.

Required for 1998 and newer Vipers and all SRT-10 Ram trucks when the catalytic convertors have been removed for track use. Otherwise, your vehicle will run too rich and turn on the check engine light.
Downstream placement, sold as a set. For off road use only.  
These signal emulators are to be attached to the downstream oxygen sensor wires when the catalytic converters are removed on 1998 and newer Vipers and all SRT-10 Ram trucks. Keeps the PCM from turning on the check engine light and running the engine in "safe" rich mode. 1998-2002 Vipers are a quick and easy direct plug-in installation, all others require splicing 4 wires per simulator. We recommend soldering for most secure connection but we include splice connectors. Price listed per set of two. For off road use only.  Professional installation recommended.

Takes less than 10 minutes to install this small O2 Simulator.
If you have modified your Viper's system or installed performance CAT's or exhaust system you will get an engine code light on.   About 99.9% time this tends to be the rear most O2 sensor at or after the CAT.  With a modified or performance exhaust system the O2 sensor will receive a higher temperature and a higher flow rate than stock (unless you have tuned engine PCM).  This is causing your engine controller to read that the exhaust system is out of balance throwing an engine light code.

This O2 Simulator works by removing the troublesome O2 sensor from the direct exhaust flow and provide your engine controller with the expected exhaust balance - thus allowing your engine to run at its optimum.

This O2 Spacer (Simulator) is screwed on to your existing O2 sensor and the assembly is replaced into the O2 bung (connection) on your exhaust.  This is an easy inexpensive fix that is very easy to install.  No soldering or splicing involved.
 
 NOTE 1:  Requires a 2 inch clearance from your exhaust pipe.
NOTE 2:  You must have a working O2 Sensor and bung connection.
