VIPER II HEADLIGHT BUCKETS
PART# DVHB306
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE:
Your new covers come to you with a clear protective liner.
Do not remove this liner until prompted to in step 3.
PARTS INCLUDED:
2-Stainless Covers,
4-1” Chrome
Covers, 4-Round Furry Cookies
-
Open hood and remove the two screws directly on top of the headlight and
set aside.
-
Your new covers come to you pre-formed however it will be necessary for
you to adjust its overall shape by hand until you achieve a nice snug
contoured fit. This can be done by installing either side to see just
where and how it may need to be adjusted to fit. You can do this by
forcing the outer side (the smaller section) between the body and the
headlight first then force it between the hood hinge and the headlight.
The cover is designed to snap into a snug position. Typically the area
that may need adjusting is the possible gap between the cover and the most
forward part of the headlight. If this gap is apparent simply make note of
any and all spaces or gaps then remove the cover and adjust by hand
accordingly.
-
Once you have achieved a nice snug contoured fit remove the protective
liner and line up the two screw holes and replace the factory screws that
you removed in step one. At this point your new cover should nicely wrap
the entire upper half of the headlight.
- The
two factory screws that you just set in place in step three will need to
be sealed. Simply place a small dab of clear household silicone to the
underside of the two 1” chrome covers (provided) for each headlight cover
and carefully set over each screw and allow a couple of hours to set or if
need be tape in position until silicone dries and remove tape at a later
time.
- You
have been provided with four round furry cookies these have been provided
for you to place on the factory hinge bracket to prevent any possible
scratching in case the hinge comes in contact with your new cover during
opening and closing. Repeat steps 1-5 for opposite side.
Note:
Care must be taken when
cleaning your covers. It is a good idea to lightly dust your covers with a
clean soft cloth first in order to prevent any particles from scratching it.
Then wipe (using a new clean soft cloth) with a good quality streak free
glass cleaner.
